Public Transit - BART
From Berkeley, head to the nearest BART station, which is the Downtown Berkeley BART Station. Once there, purchase a ticket to Embarcadero station in San Francisco. Board the train and enjoy the ride. Once you reach Embarcadero, exit the station and transfer to the Muni F-Line streetcar towards Fisherman’s Wharf. Ride the streetcar until you reach the stop at Powell St & Beach St. Walk a short distance towards Jackson St, and The Purple Onion at Kells will be on your right at 530 Jackson St.
Public Transit - AC Transit Bus
Catch AC Transit Bus Line 1 or 1R from any bus stop in Berkeley heading towards San Francisco. Make sure to get off at the stop at the Transbay Terminal. From there, you can walk or take the Muni bus or streetcar. If walking, head towards Howard St and continue onto Beale St, then take a left on Market St and walk to the Embarcadero. From there, catch the Muni F-Line streetcar towards Fisherman’s Wharf and get off at Powell St & Beach St. Walk a bit towards Jackson St to find The Purple Onion at Kells at 530 Jackson St.
Walking
If you are staying close to the downtown area of Berkeley, you can walk to the Downtown Berkeley BART Station, then take the BART to Embarcadero and transfer to the F-Line streetcar as described above. Alternatively, if you prefer to walk the entire way, it’s a long journey at about 15 miles, so be prepared for an extensive trek through the city.
Ride-sharing/Taxi
For the most direct route, use a ride-sharing service or taxi. Simply request a ride to The Purple Onion at Kells located at 530 Jackson St, San Francisco. Make sure to specify the address clearly. This option will take you directly to your destination without the need for transfers or walking.
