Bus
From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest bus stop on Shattuck Ave. Catch the AC Transit bus line 51B towards the Transbay Terminal. After about 30 minutes, get off at the stop at 1st St & Brannan St in San Francisco. From there, walk east along Brannan St until you reach Pennsylvania Ave. It's a short walk, approximately 5 minutes.
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
Head to the nearest BART station in downtown Berkeley. Take the BART train towards the San Francisco International Airport. Get off at the Embarcadero Station. Once you exit the station, transfer to the Muni Bus or T-Line streetcar and head towards Potrero Hill. Get off at the stop for Pennsylvania Ave. This entire journey will take about 45 minutes to an hour.
Bicycle
If you're comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-share stations in Berkeley. Head southwest on University Ave towards San Francisco. Cross the Bay Bridge via the designated bike path. Once you reach the San Francisco side, continue to follow bike lanes to reach Potrero Hill. Pennsylvania Ave is a short ride from the bridge, approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
Walking
For those who enjoy a longer walk, you can follow this route: Start at the UC Berkeley campus and head south towards the Berkeley Marina. Walk along the waterfront to the nearest ferry terminal, and take the ferry to San Francisco. Once you arrive at the San Francisco Ferry Building, walk southeast along the Embarcadero. You can then catch a bus or walk to Potrero Hill to reach Pennsylvania Ave. This option will take several hours, but you will enjoy beautiful views of the bay.
