Walking
If you are starting from the Big Sur River Inn, head south on Highway 1 for about 1.2 miles. You will pass a few shops and restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for the Big Creek Bridge on your left, which is approximately 1.2 miles from the inn. The bridge is easily identifiable as it is a prominent structure along the coast.
Bicycling
From the Big Sur Campground & Cabins, you can rent a bike and head south on Highway 1. Biking is a great way to enjoy the scenic views. Travel approximately 3 miles south along the highway until you reach Big Creek Bridge. Make sure to stay on the right side of the road and watch for traffic.
Hiking
For a more adventurous option, consider hiking from the Andrew Molera State Park. Start at the park's entrance and take the River Trail. This scenic trail leads you through beautiful landscapes and eventually connects to the Big Sur River Trail. Follow the trail for about 4.5 miles until you reach the Highway 1 crossing. From there, walk north on Highway 1 for about 1 mile to reach Big Creek Bridge.
Public Transport
If you're near the Big Sur Lodge, you can take the Monterey-Salinas Transit bus (line 22) heading south. Get off at the stop near Big Creek Bridge. The bus service is limited, so be sure to check the schedule ahead of time. Once you get off the bus, the bridge is a short walk away.
