Start by walking to the Big Sur Station located on Highway 1. From there, take the Monterey-Salinas Transit Bus Line 22 towards Monterey. The bus ride will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Monterey, get off at the 'Monterey Transit Plaza' stop. From the plaza, it's about a 15-minute walk to Doud House. Head southeast on Del Monte Avenue, turn left onto Van Buren Street, and continue until you reach 177 Van Buren St, where the Doud House is located.

For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bike in Big Sur. Start at the Big Sur River Inn and head north on Highway 1. Be cautious as the road can be narrow and winding. Bike approximately 25 miles north to reach Monterey. Once you arrive in Monterey, navigate to Van Buren Street. Head toward the downtown area, then take a right onto Van Buren Street. Doud House will be located at 177 Van Buren St. Remember to wear a helmet and observe all safety rules while biking.
