If you are in the Big Sur area and want to reach Larkin House, start at the Big Sur River Inn, which is a popular landmark. From there, head north on State Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) for about 1.5 miles. As you walk, enjoy the stunning views of the coastline and the mountains. Continue until you reach the intersection with Palo Colorado Road. This will be roughly a 30-minute walk depending on your pace. Once you reach the intersection, you can either take a break to enjoy the scenery or continue walking if you feel up for it.

For those who prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Big Sur. Start your journey from the Big Sur Campground and Cabins. Cycle north on State Route 1 for approximately 2 miles. The route is relatively flat and offers beautiful vistas of the Pacific Ocean. When you reach the intersection with Palo Colorado Road, Larkin House will be nearby. The total biking time will be about 15-20 minutes without stops.

Hiking
If you're up for a more adventurous route, consider hiking from Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. Begin on the Pfeiffer Falls Trail, which offers a moderate hike through the redwoods. After about 1 mile, you will reach the falls. From there, continue on the trail until you exit the park onto State Route 1. Once on the highway, head north for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Palo Colorado Road. Larkin House will be accessible from there. The entire hike can take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace.
