Public Bus
From Castro Valley, walk to the Castro Valley BART station located at 3401 Castro Valley Blvd. Once there, take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Montgomery St. station in San Francisco. Exit the station and walk to the Montgomery St. & Sacramento St. bus stop. Here, board the MUNI bus line 1-California heading towards California St & Van Ness Ave. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the Mason St & California St stop. The Cable Car Museum is a short 5-minute walk from there at 1201 Mason St.
BART and Cable Car
Start at Castro Valley BART station (3401 Castro Valley Blvd). Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Ride for approximately 30 minutes and get off at Embarcadero station. From Embarcadero, walk to the Powell St. Cable Car Turnaround. Board the Powell-Hyde or Powell-Mason cable car. Ride it for about 10 minutes and get off at the Mason St & Bay St stop. The Cable Car Museum is just a 5-minute walk from there at 1201 Mason St.

Using a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft, set your pickup location to anywhere in Castro Valley. Enter 'Cable Car Museum, 1201 Mason St, San Francisco, CA 94108' as your destination. The drive will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you will be right at the entrance of the Cable Car Museum.
