• Walking

  From the intersection of Grant Avenue and California Street, a central point in Chinatown, walk north on Grant Avenue until you reach Pacific Avenue. Turn left onto Hang Ah Street. Hang Ah Lanterns is located at 31 Hang Ah St. This short walk allows you to experience the bustling atmosphere of Chinatown. No cost involved.

  Take the Muni bus to the nearest bus stop on Grant Avenue. Look for the 8X or 30 bus lines, which travel through Chinatown. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at Washington Street. Walk down Washington Street until you reach Hang Ah Street, then turn left. Hang Ah Lanterns will be at 31 Hang Ah St. A single ride on Muni bus is $3.00.

• Cable Car

  For a unique San Francisco experience, take the cable car. Head to the Powell-Hyde or Powell-Mason line and board the cable car at Powell Street. Ride the cable car until you reach the stop at California Street. Walk east on California Street towards Grant Avenue, then turn right onto Grant Avenue.
