Public Transit
From Castro Valley, walk to the Castro Valley BART station located at 3301 Norbridge Dr. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Stay on the train for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Embarcadero station. Transfer to the Muni Metro at Embarcadero, taking the N Judah line towards Ocean Beach. Get off at the 9th Ave & Irving St stop. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk. Head west on Irving St, then turn left onto 6th Ave. Continue straight until you reach Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr, where the Japanese Tea Garden is located.

Bus
From Castro Valley, head to the nearest bus stop on Castro Valley Blvd. Take AC Transit Bus 88 towards Hayward BART. Get off at the Hayward BART station. From Hayward BART, take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Embarcadero station. Transfer to the Muni bus 5 Fulton. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at California St & 6th Ave. Walk a short distance to Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr, where the Japanese Tea Garden is located.

If you prefer to walk, start from the Castro Valley BART station. Walk north on Castro Valley Blvd until you reach the intersection with Lake Chabot Rd. Follow Lake Chabot Rd until you reach the intersection of Foothill Blvd. Continue along Foothill Blvd until you reach the BART station at Hayward. From there, follow the earlier directions to transfer to BART towards San Francisco and then take Muni to reach the Japanese Tea Garden.
