Bus
From Castro Valley, head to the nearest bus stop. Take the AC Transit Bus Line 20 towards Hayward. After about 30 minutes, transfer to the BART at Hayward Station. Take the BART train heading towards San Francisco/Daly City. Get off at the Embarcadero Station. From there, transfer to the Golden Gate Transit Bus 70 towards Sausalito. After about 40 minutes, get off at the Sausalito Ferry Terminal. Walk along Bridgeway for about 10 minutes to reach 525 Bridgeway, the Sausalito Boardwalk.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Castro Valley. Ride north on Castro Valley Blvd, then take a right onto Redwood Rd. Follow the signs towards the San Francisco Bay Trail. Continue along the trail that leads to Sausalito. The ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, and you will arrive at 525 Bridgeway, the Sausalito Boardwalk.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, start at the Castro Valley Plaza. Head north on Castro Valley Blvd, then take a left on Redwood Rd. Continue walking until you reach the San Francisco Bay Trail. Follow the trail which will eventually lead you to Sausalito. It will take about 4 to 5 hours of walking, but you will enjoy beautiful views along the way. Once in Sausalito, walk along Bridgeway for about 10 minutes to reach 525 Bridgeway, the Sausalito Boardwalk.
