Public Bus
From Castro Valley, walk to the nearest bus stop on Castro Valley Blvd. Take the AC Transit Line 96 towards Bay Fair BART. Get off at the Bay Fair BART station. From Bay Fair BART, take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Get off at the Civic Center station in San Francisco. Transfer to the N-Judah light rail at the Civic Center station and head towards Ocean Beach. Get off at the California St & 6th Ave stop. From there, walk approximately 15 minutes west through the park until you reach Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park.

Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Castro Valley. Head west on Castro Valley Blvd, then take East 14th Street towards San Leandro. Follow the bike paths along the San Francisco Bay Trail, which leads you to the BART stations. Once at the Bay Fair BART station, you can either lock your bike there and use BART to San Francisco or continue biking along the Bay Trail. If you choose to bike through the city, follow the bike lanes to Golden Gate Park. Once in the park, Stow Lake is located centrally, and you can easily navigate to it.

If you enjoy walking, start at the Castro Valley Plaza and head west on Castro Valley Blvd. Walk towards the nearest BART station, Bay Fair BART. From there, take the BART train to San Francisco.
