From Castro Valley, walk to the nearest bus stop at Castro Valley BART Station. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City and get off at the Montgomery St. Station. Once you exit the station, walk towards Market St and catch the Muni bus 8X towards Bayview Hunter's Point. Get off at the stop at Columbus Ave & Filbert St. From there, it's just a short walk to Washington Square Park, which is located at the intersection of Filbert St and Stockton St.

From there, walk through the Financial District toward Chinatown, then continue towards the North Beach neighborhood. Follow Grant Ave north until you reach Filbert St, then turn left to arrive at Washington Square Park.
