Getting There

• Car

  To reach Campo Seco (California Historical Landmark No. 257) by car, start on Highway 99, which is a major north-south route in Central California. If you're coming from the north (e.g., Stockton), take the exit for CA-26 East toward Valley Springs. Follow CA-26 for approximately 20 miles until you reach the town of Valley Springs. Once in Valley Springs, turn left onto Campo Seco Road. Continue on Campo Seco Road for about 3 miles, and you will find the historical landmark at 4025 Campo Seco Rd, Valley Springs, CA 95252. Parking is available near the landmark, and there are no fees for visiting the site.

  If you prefer to use public transportation, take a Greyhound bus to Stockton from your location. From the Stockton Greyhound station, you can catch a local transit bus (San Joaquin Regional Transit District) to Valley Springs. Check the bus schedules in advance as they may not run frequently. Once you arrive in Valley Springs, you can either walk or take a taxi/rideshare service to Campo Seco. The distance from the bus stop to Campo Seco is approximately 3 miles, so if walking, be prepared for a 1-hour walk along Campo Seco Road.

  For the more adventurous, biking to Campo Seco is a scenic option. If you are starting from a nearby town like Valley Springs, you can rent a bicycle locally. Use CA-26 and then Campo Seco Road. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic rules. The ride is approximately 3 miles from Valley Springs to Campo Seco, which can take about 15-20 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
