Getting There

Walking
From the center of Coronado, head north on Orange Avenue towards the Hotel del Coronado. Continue walking straight for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection with Silver Strand Blvd. Turn left onto Silver Strand Blvd and follow it until you reach the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to downtown San Diego. Once you arrive in San Diego, head to the Coaster train station located at 1050 Kettner Blvd. Take the Coaster train northbound towards Oceanside. Get off at the Encinitas station. From there, exit the station and head west on Encinitas Blvd for about 0.5 miles until you reach Moonlight State Beach.

Rent a bike from one of the rental shops in Coronado. Start your ride by heading north on Orange Avenue. Continue to the end of the avenue where it meets Silver Strand Blvd. Turn left and follow Silver Strand Blvd until you reach the ferry terminal. Take the ferry to downtown San Diego. Once in San Diego, ride your bike to the Coaster train station at 1050 Kettner Blvd. Board the Coaster train heading north to Encinitas. After arriving at the Encinitas station, ride west on Encinitas Blvd for approximately 0.5 miles to reach Moonlight State Beach.

From Coronado, walk to the ferry terminal located on the bay. Take the ferry to downtown San Diego (the ferry ride will take about 15 minutes). After disembarking, walk to the nearest bus stop and catch the bus number 101 or 102 heading north toward Encinitas. Get off at the Encinitas Blvd and Coast Highway 101 stop. From there, walk west on Encinitas Blvd for about 0.5 miles until you arrive at Moonlight State Beach.
