    Walking

    If you're starting from the Costa Mesa City Hall, head northwest on Fairview Rd toward Victoria St. Continue straight for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Cross the street and walk along PCH heading southeast for approximately 1 mile. You will see the entrance to the beach on your left, known as Thousand Steps Beach. Once at the beach, look for the stairs leading down to the sand. The Pirate Tower is located along the coastline, and you will need to walk south along the beach for about 0.2 miles to find it.

    Public Transport

    From the Costa Mesa Metrolink Station, take the OC Bus Route 57 heading toward the Newport Beach area. Get off at the stop near the intersection of PCH and 9th Ave. From there, head southeast on PCH for about 0.3 miles until you reach the entrance to Thousand Steps Beach on your left. Walk down the stairs to the beach and head south along the shoreline for about 0.2 miles to reach the Pirate Tower.

    If you have access to a bike, start from the Costa Mesa Community Center. Head south on Fairview Rd for about 1 mile, then turn right onto PCH. Continue biking southeast on PCH for about 1 mile.
