Public Transport
To get to Chess Park at 1652 Ocean Front Walk, Santa Monica, you can start by taking the Metro Bus Line 180 or 181 from Glendale. Board the bus at one of the local stops; if you're near the Glendale Galleria, you can catch the bus from there. Ride the bus to the 'North Hollywood Station' where you will transfer to the Metro Red Line towards Union Station. At Union Station, transfer to the Metro Expo Line towards Santa Monica. Get off at the 'Downtown Santa Monica Station'. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to Chess Park. Exit the station and head west on Colorado Avenue until you reach Ocean Avenue. Turn right on Ocean Avenue and walk south until you reach Ocean Front Walk. Chess Park will be located on your left.
Walking
If you are already in Santa Monica, you can walk to Chess Park. From the Santa Monica Pier, head east along the beach on Ocean Front Walk. The park is located just a short walk from the pier. It will take approximately 15 minutes on foot. Enjoy the scenic views of the beach and the ocean as you make your way to the park.
Bicycle
For those who prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the rental stations around Santa Monica. From the Santa Monica Bike Center, head west towards the beach on Colorado Avenue. Once you reach Ocean Avenue, turn left and ride south along the bike path, which will lead you directly to Chess Park. This route is approximately 1.5 miles and should take about 10 minutes.
