To reach Rubicon Peak from Tahoe City, start at Commons Beach, located at 25 North Lake Blvd. Walk east along North Lake Blvd until you reach the intersection with Highway 89. Cross Highway 89 carefully and head south on the Tahoe Rim Trail. Follow the trail signs as you continue hiking. The hike will take you through scenic views of the lake and forest. After about 3.5 miles, you will see a trail leading up to Rubicon Peak. Follow the trail up to the peak, which should take about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. From Tahoe City, you can take the Tahoe Area Regional Transit (TART) bus.
