From Hayward, head to the Hayward BART Station. Once there, purchase a ticket to the San Francisco Powell Street Station. Board the train going to San Francisco and enjoy the ride. Once you arrive at Powell Street Station, exit and transfer to the Muni metro. Take the Muni Metro N-Judah line towards Ocean Beach. Get off at the stop at Carl St & Stanyan St. From there, walk east on Carl St until you reach Haight St, then turn left. Continue walking until you reach Buena Vista Park at the corner of Buena Vista & Haight Street.

From the Hayward downtown area, locate the AC Transit bus stop for Line 46. Board the bus heading towards San Francisco. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of Haight St & Stanyan St. From there, walk a short distance towards Buena Vista Park. Turn right onto Haight St and continue walking until you reach the park entrance at Buena Vista & Haight Street.

If you are close enough to downtown Hayward, you can walk to Buena Vista Park in San Francisco. Head north on Mission Blvd towards W A St, then turn left to continue on W A St. Follow W A St until you reach the intersection with Foothill Blvd. Turn right onto Foothill Blvd and continue walking until you reach the Hayward BART Station. From there, follow the BART instructions above.
