From Hayward, walk to the Hayward BART station located at 699 B St, Hayward, CA 94541. Once you arrive at the station, purchase a ticket to the Civic Center/UN Plaza station in San Francisco. Board the train heading to San Francisco/Daly City. After approximately a 30-minute ride, disembark at the Civic Center/UN Plaza station. Upon exiting the station, walk north on Market St towards Hayes St. Turn left onto Hayes St, and then right onto Van Ness Ave. The War Memorial Opera House will be on your left at 301 Van Ness Ave.
Public Transit - BART and Muni
Start your journey at the Hayward BART station. Purchase a ticket to the Embarcadero station. Board the BART train to San Francisco, which takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Embarcadero, transfer to the Muni Metro. Catch the Muni N-Judah or T-Third line towards the west. Get off at the Van Ness Ave & Market St stop. Walk north on Van Ness Ave for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the War Memorial Opera House located at 301 Van Ness Ave.

If you are in the downtown Hayward area, you can walk to the Hayward BART station located at 699 B St. From there, take the BART to Civic Center/UN Plaza station as mentioned above. After you exit, walk north on Market St, then turn left onto Hayes St, followed by a right onto Van Ness Ave. The War Memorial Opera House will be on your left at 301 Van Ness Ave. This route is approximately 1.5 miles and will take around 30 minutes on foot.
