Walking
If you are in Hollywood, start at the Hollywood & Highland Center, located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd. Walk west on Hollywood Blvd until you reach the intersection with Highland Ave. Turn left onto Highland Ave and continue south. After about 1 mile, you will reach Sunset Blvd. Turn right onto Sunset Blvd and head west for approximately 2 miles. You will then merge onto the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and continue for about 5 miles. Finally, turn left onto Ocean Ave and follow it until you reach the intersection with Ocean Front Walk. Chess Park is located at 1652 Ocean Front Walk, right on the beach.
Public Transport
From Hollywood, walk to the nearest Metro station, Hollywood/Highland Station. Take the Metro Red Line towards Union Station. At the 7th Street/Metro Center Station, transfer to the Expo Line towards Santa Monica. Get off at the last stop, Santa Monica. Once you exit the station, walk towards the beach via 4th Street. Head south on 4th Street until you reach Ocean Front Walk. Chess Park is located at 1652 Ocean Front Walk, right on the beach.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, start from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Head south on Highland Ave until you reach Sunset Blvd. Turn right onto Sunset Blvd and ride west until you reach Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Turn right onto PCH and cycle for about 5 miles. Next, turn left onto Ocean Ave and continue until you reach Ocean Front Walk. Chess Park is at 1652 Ocean Front Walk, adjacent to the beach.
