Stargazing Wonders at Griffith Observatory

Getting There

• Public Bus

  If you are in Inglewood, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Metro Line 40 or Line 212 towards Los Angeles. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the 'Los Feliz Blvd & Fern Dell Dr' stop. From there, walk northeast on Los Feliz Blvd for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance to Griffith Park. Continue walking through the park until you see signs for Griffith Observatory. The total walking distance from the bus stop is about 10-15 minutes.

• Metro Train

  Make your way to the nearest Metro station in Inglewood (e.g., the Crenshaw Station). Take the C Line (Green Line) towards Expo/Crenshaw. At the Aviation/Century station, transfer to the E Line (Expo Line) towards Downtown Los Angeles. Get off at the 'Union Station' stop and transfer to the Red Line (Metro Rail) towards North Hollywood. Get off at 'Hollywood/Highland' station. From there, take a bus or rideshare to Griffith Observatory, which is about 3 miles away. Alternatively, you can walk through Hollywood Hills for a scenic route.

• Rideshare

  Open your preferred rideshare app (like Uber or Lyft) and set your destination to Griffith Observatory, located at 2800 E Observatory Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90027. The app will provide you with the quickest route based on current traffic conditions. The drive will take approximately 20-30 minutes from central Inglewood.

• Walk

  If you're feeling adventurous and are close to Griffith Park, you can walk directly there. From central Inglewood, head north on Crenshaw Blvd, then turn right onto W 60th St. Continue until you reach the main entrance of Griffith Park. Once inside, follow the signs to Griffith Observatory. This walk is quite long, approximately 5 miles, so plan accordingly and wear comfortable shoes.
