Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the Joshua Tree National Park Visitor Center located at 6554 Park Blvd, Joshua Tree, CA 92252. From the Visitor Center, head south on Park Blvd for about 1.5 miles until you reach the junction with Highway 62. Turn left onto Highway 62 and continue for approximately 15 miles. Look for the entrance to the park on your right and pay the entrance fee, which is $30 per vehicle and is valid for 7 days. Once inside the park, follow the signs to Keys View. Drive on Park Boulevard for about 24 miles, and then turn right onto Keys View Road. Continue on Keys View Road for about 3 miles until you reach the parking area for Keys View. There are restrooms and picnic areas available near the viewpoint.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a bus or shuttle service to reach Joshua Tree National Park. The nearest bus station is in Joshua Tree, and from there, you can use a local shuttle service or taxi to get to the park entrance. Please check the local transit schedules for the latest information on routes and timings. Once in the park, you will still need to use a taxi or rideshare service to get to Keys View, as there is no public transport within the park. The cost for a taxi ride from the visitor center to Keys View can vary, so it is advisable to confirm the fare before starting your ride.

• Biking

  For the adventurous, biking is an option to reach Keys View, but you should be prepared for a challenging ride. Start at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center and take the same route as if you were driving, but be aware that it is a long ride of approximately 24 miles with elevation changes. Bring plenty of water and snacks as there are no services along the way. Ensure your bike is in good working condition and wear appropriate safety gear. Once you reach Keys View, enjoy the breathtaking views of the Coachella Valley, San Andreas Fault, and, on a clear day, even Mexico.
