Getting There

Walking
From the center of Joshua Tree, head northeast on Highway 62. Continue for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Utah Trail. Turn left onto Utah Trail and follow it for about 2 miles. This road will take you directly to the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Continue straight into the park until you reach the Cap Rock Nature Trail parking area, which is on your right. The trailhead is just a short walk from the parking area.

If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Joshua Tree. Start by cycling northeast on Highway 62, which has a bike lane. After about 5 miles, turn left onto Utah Trail. Continue biking for about 2 miles until you reach the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Once inside the park, keep an eye out for the Cap Rock Nature Trail parking area on your right. Park your bike at the designated area and walk to the trailhead.

Take the local shuttle service that operates in Joshua Tree. Catch the shuttle at the nearest stop to your location. Ensure you inform the driver that you want to go to Joshua Tree National Park.
