Start from the center of Joshua Tree town, at the intersection of Highway 62 and Park Boulevard. Head north on Park Boulevard, walking towards Joshua Tree National Park. After about 1.5 miles, you'll reach the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Continue walking straight through the entrance. Follow the main road (Park Boulevard) for another 3.5 miles until you see the Split Rock Loop Trailhead on your right. The trailhead is marked with signage that indicates the beginning of the Split Rock Loop Trail.

If you have a bike, start from the main area of Joshua Tree and bike north on Park Boulevard. The ride to the Split Rock Loop Trailhead is approximately 5 miles. Keep an eye out for the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. After entering the park, continue on Park Boulevard for about 3.5 miles until you reach the Split Rock Loop Trailhead on your right. The ride offers beautiful views and is a great way to access the trailhead.
