    If you are in the heart of La Jolla, start at La Jolla Cove. Head east on Coast Blvd to the intersection with Girard Ave. Turn left onto Girard Ave and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Torrey Pines Rd. Turn right onto Torrey Pines Rd and walk south. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the La Jolla Village Square. From there, take the bus route 30 or 34 towards Old Town San Diego. Get off at the 'Old Town Transit Center' stop.

    From the Old Town Transit Center, transfer to the MTS bus route 8 towards Mission Valley. Get off at the stop 'Heritage Park' which is near the Sherman-Gilbert House. The house is a short walk from the bus stop. Walk south on Heritage Park Row, and you will arrive at your destination.

    If you are closer to the Old Town area, you can also walk to the Sherman-Gilbert House. From the Old Town State Historic Park, head south on San Diego Ave. After about a 10-minute walk, turn left onto Heritage Park Row, and you will find the house on your right.
