Walking
If you are starting from the Laguna Beach main beach area, head south on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Walk along the sidewalk, passing by various shops and restaurants. After about 0.5 miles, you will see the entrance to Thousand Steps Park on your left, just after you pass the 'Thousand Steps Beach' sign. The entrance is marked and you will need to descend a large set of stairs to reach the beach. The total walking distance is approximately 0.6 miles.
Public Transit
From the Laguna Beach bus station, take the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus Route 1 heading southbound towards Dana Point. Get off at the stop near Pacific Coast Highway and Thousand Steps Beach (approximately 15 minutes ride). Walk back along PCH for about 0.1 miles and you will find the entrance to Thousand Steps Park on your right. Follow the stairs down to the beach.
