Getting There
Bus
From downtown Los Angeles, head to the nearest Metro Bus stop. Take the Metro Line 534 towards Santa Monica. After approximately 1 hour, get off at the 'Santa Monica Pier' stop. From there, transfer to the Malibu Shuttle (Route 234) which will take you directly to Malibu Pier. The shuttle ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Malibu Pier, you will see the pier directly in front of you.
Metro and Bus
Start your journey at any Metro Station in Los Angeles. Board the Metro Expo Line towards Santa Monica. Disembark at 'Downtown Santa Monica' station. From there, walk to the Santa Monica Bus Terminal and catch the Malibu Bus (Line 234). This bus will take you along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway, and you will arrive at Malibu Pier after about 30 minutes. Look for the pier as you approach the coastline.
Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply enter 'Malibu Pier, 23000 CA-1, Malibu, CA 90265' as your destination. Depending on your starting point in Los Angeles, the ride may take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour, and you will enjoy a comfortable door-to-door service.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, consider biking to Malibu Pier. You can rent a bike from various locations in Santa Monica. Start your ride along the beachfront path that leads toward Malibu. The ride is approximately 10 miles and offers beautiful views of the ocean. Follow the bike path until you reach Malibu Pier. Be sure to wear a helmet and stay safe!
