Walking
From Malibu Pier, head northwest on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) towards the Malibu Lagoon State Beach. Continue walking along the beach path until you reach the entrance of the Malibu Lagoon State Park. Once inside the park, follow the trails leading towards the west until you reach the intersection with Birdview Avenue. Turn left onto Birdview Avenue, and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Cliffside Drive. Point Dume will be just ahead.

If you're starting from the Malibu Beach area, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops. Head west on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and then take a left onto Zuma Beach Road. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with Cliffside Drive. Turn right onto Cliffside Drive and continue until you reach Point Dume. Take the Metro Bus Line 534 from any of the stops along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. Make sure to board a bus heading towards 'Pacific Coast Highway & Zuma Beach.' Disembark at the stop closest to Point Dume, which is at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Birdview Avenue. From there, it's a short walk up Birdview Avenue to reach Point Dume.
