Getting There

Car
If you're driving from the center of Mammoth Lakes, start on Main Street (US-395). Head southeast on Main Street and merge onto Minaret Road. Continue on Minaret Road, following signs for Mammoth Mountain. After approximately 4 miles, turn left onto Mill City Tract Road. Follow this road for about 1 mile and you will find Mammoth Rock on your left. There is some parking available near the trailhead.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) bus that runs through Mammoth Lakes. Board the bus at any of the stops along Main Street. You'll want to take the bus heading towards the Mammoth Mountain area. Ask the driver to let you off near the intersection of Minaret Road and Mill City Tract Road. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk to Mammoth Rock along Mill City Tract Road, where you'll find the landmark on your left. Please check the current ESTA bus schedule as hours may vary.
