From Sausalito, take Highway 101 South towards San Francisco. Take the Alexander Avenue exit. Turn left onto Alexander Avenue, then turn left onto Conzelman Road. Follow Conzelman Road up the hill to the Golden Gate View Point. Be aware that Conzelman Road has sections that are one-way. Parking is free but limited, especially during peak hours. Consider carpooling or using a ride-sharing service. Expect heavy traffic on weekends and holidays.
Public Transport
From Sausalito, take Golden Gate Transit Route 130 towards San Francisco. Get off at the Alexander Ave & Bunker Rd stop. From there, it's approximately a 30-minute uphill walk along Conzelman Road to the Golden Gate View Point. Alternatively, transfer to MUNI Route 76X (if available, check current schedules as this route may be suspended) which will take you closer to the viewpoint. A one-way fare on Golden Gate Transit is approximately $4-$7 for adults, depending on the distance. A one-way fare on MUNI is $3.00, or $2.50 with a Clipper card.

From Sausalito, a taxi or ride-share (Uber/Lyft) to the Golden Gate View Point will cost approximately $20-$30, depending on traffic and demand. The ride is about 4 miles and takes approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.
