Prohibition Spirits, nestled in the heart of Sonoma, is a boutique distillery crafting artisanal spirits inspired by the region's rich wine culture. As Sonoma’s first distillery since the Prohibition era, it offers a unique tasting experience, showcasing handcrafted whiskeys, rums, brandies, and liqueurs. Visitors can explore a diverse range of flavors, from the signature Limoncello di Sonoma to innovative wine-barrel-aged spirits. The distillery pays homage to local history with spirits named after colorful figures like General Hooker and sugar baron Adolf Spreckels. Walking
Prohibition Spirits is located a short walk from the Sonoma Plaza. From the Plaza's central square, head east on East Napa Street. Turn right onto 8th Street East. The distillery will be on your left, a short distance from the Plaza. The walk is generally flat and takes about 5 minutes.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services (Uber/Lyft) are readily available in Sonoma. A short ride from Sonoma Plaza to Prohibition Spirits will cost approximately $10-$15, depending on demand and surge pricing. Be sure to confirm the fare before starting your trip. There is typically ample space for drop-off directly in front of the distillery.
Public Transport
Sonoma County Transit Route 32, also known as the Sonoma Shuttle, provides local service in Sonoma and Sonoma Valley. Route 32 stops at the Sonoma Plaza, a short walk from the distillery. Check the Sonoma County Transit website for the most up-to-date schedules and fare information. Fares on routes 30, 34 & 40 are zone-based and vary between $1.50 & $3.00 for adults and $0.75 to $1.50 for seniors. Through June 2025, all Youth ride free.
Driving
If driving, from Sonoma Plaza, head east on East Napa Street and turn right onto 8th Street East. The distillery will be on your left. Free street parking is available, but limited to 3 hours between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday through Saturday. There are no time limits on Sundays. Alternatively, free public parking is available at the Casa Grande lot behind the historic Barracks, accessible from First St. East, just north of the Plaza, or at the lot behind Sebastiani Theatre, with entrance off East Napa St.
