Discover more about Sonoma Garden Park

Sonoma Garden Park is more than just a garden; it's a community-driven space dedicated to sustainable agriculture and education. Originally the property of Pauline Bond, a Sonoma schoolteacher, she gifted the land to the City of Sonoma in 1977 with the agreement that it remain a public park. In 1993, the Sonoma Ecology Center took over operations, transforming it into the lush environment you see today. The park features winding paths that meander through a variety of themed gardens, including a Water-wise Demonstration Garden maintained by the UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County. Here, visitors can learn about drought-tolerant landscaping and water management techniques. The Children's Garden offers a playful space for families to explore and learn about gardening together.Every Saturday, the park hosts a Harvest Market where you can purchase fresh produce, flowers, eggs, local honey, and olive oil. The market is a great place to support local agriculture and enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of the garden's labor.Sonoma Garden Park is also a center for education, hosting workshops, classes, camps, and other events throughout the year. It serves as a venue for the K-6 Watershed Education Program and offers vocational training programs. With its commitment to sustainability and community engagement, Sonoma Garden Park is a true gem in the heart of Sonoma.
