From downtown Mountain View, the easiest way to reach NASA Ames is via the VTA 51 bus. Catch the 51 bus from the El Camino Real at Castro Street, heading towards Moffett Field. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the North Akron & McCord stop, which is a short walk to the main gate of NASA Ames. A single ride on VTA costs $2.50.
