Driving
To reach Pebble Beach from Monterey or Carmel, the most direct route is via Highway 1 and the 17-Mile Drive. Note that there is a $12.25 entrance fee per vehicle to access the 17-Mile Drive. This fee is reimbursed with a purchase of $35 or more at Pebble Beach Resorts restaurants (excluding Pebble Beach Market). Follow the signs for 17-Mile Drive, and be prepared for potential delays during peak season. The drive offers access to various points within Pebble Beach, including the golf courses, The Lodge, and scenic overlooks. Parking is available at designated areas throughout Pebble Beach, but can be limited during peak times.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Monterey and Carmel. A ride from downtown Monterey to The Lodge at Pebble Beach will cost approximately $25-$40, depending on traffic and demand. Be sure to specify your destination within Pebble Beach when booking your ride. Keep in mind that access to certain areas within Pebble Beach may still require paying the 17-Mile Drive entrance fee.
Public Transport
While there isn't direct public transport to all points within Pebble Beach, Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) provides bus service to certain areas near Pebble Beach. From Monterey, take MST Line 1 to Pacific Grove and transfer to MST Line 7 to reach the 17-Mile Drive entrance at Sunset Drive. From there, you can walk or take a taxi/ride-share to your final destination within Pebble Beach. MST fares are typically around $2.50 per ride. Remember to factor in additional time for transfers and potential walking distances.
