Public Bus
Start at the Monterey Transit Plaza. Take the Monterey-Salinas Transit Line 1 towards Carmel. The bus will take you south along Highway 1. Get off at the 'Monastery Beach' stop. From this stop, walk towards the beach entrance, which is a short distance away.
Bicycle
If you're renting a bike, start from Cannery Row. Head south on Ocean View Blvd. Follow the road as it curves and eventually merges onto Scenic Road. Continue on Scenic Road until you reach the intersection with Highway 1. Monastery Beach will be on your right. There's a bike path that leads directly to the beach entrance.
Walking
From downtown Monterey, walk towards the coast along Alvarado Street. Take a left onto Ocean View Blvd. Continue walking south, enjoying the scenic views. When you reach the intersection with Highway 1, cross the street carefully. Monastery Beach is just a short walk down the path from the highway.
