Walking
From the center of Stanford's campus, such as the Main Quad, Hoover Tower is easily accessible on foot. Head east, orienting yourself towards the tall tower. Walk along the paved pathways, passing landmarks like Memorial Church and the Cantor Arts Center. The tower will become increasingly visible as you approach. The main entrance faces Serra Mall. Note that the walk from the Main Quad is approximately 5-10 minutes.
Public Transport
The free Stanford Marguerite Shuttle provides convenient access to Hoover Tower from various points on campus and the Palo Alto Transit Center (Caltrain station). Several lines stop near Hoover Tower, including the C, P, and X lines. Check the Marguerite Shuttle schedule for the most up-to-date route information and arrival times. From the Serra Mall stop, it's a short walk to the tower's main entrance. There is no cost for using the Marguerite Shuttle.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxi and ride-sharing services (Uber/Lyft) can drop you off directly at Hoover Tower. The most convenient drop-off location is on Serra Mall, near the main entrance. A short ride from the Palo Alto Transit Center will typically cost between $10-$15, depending on traffic and demand.
Driving
Driving directly to Hoover Tower is possible, but parking can be limited and require a 15-20 minute walk. Visitor parking is enforced Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. using the ParkMobile app. The closest visitor parking lots are located near Palm Drive. Parking costs $1.50 per hour. Weekends are free. Be aware of game day parking restrictions.
