Public Transport
From the San Jose Diridon Station (serving Caltrain, ACE, and VTA light rail), take the VTA Light Rail Green Line towards Civic Center. Exit at the San Jose Convention Center Station. From there, walk north on S Market St, then turn right onto S 1st St. The California Theatre, home of Opera San Jose, will be on your left. A single VTA light rail fare is $2.50.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From anywhere in downtown San Jose, a taxi or ride-share (Uber/Lyft) to Opera San Jose is a convenient option. The drop-off point is 345 S 1st St. Expect to pay between $8 and $15 for a ride within the downtown area, depending on the distance and demand.
Driving
If driving, approach Opera San Jose via Highway 87 (Guadalupe Parkway). Exit at W San Carlos St and head east. Turn right onto S 1st St. Limited street parking is available, but several parking garages are nearby. The San Jose McEnery Convention Center Garage (entrances on Market St and Almaden Blvd) and the 2nd & San Carlos Garage are within walking distance. Parking rates vary, typically costing $25-$30 for daily maximum at the Convention Center, and metered street parking is also available.
Walking
From Plaza de Cesar Chavez in downtown San Jose, walk south on S Market St. Turn left onto S 1st St. The California Theatre will be on your left, a short walk. The walk is approximately 5-10 minutes.
