Driving
To reach the Miwok Trail from San Francisco, take US-101 N towards the Golden Gate Bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue on US-101 N and take the CA-1 N/Mill Valley exit. Follow CA-1 N and turn left onto Tennessee Valley Road. Continue for about a mile until you see the Tennessee Valley sign on the left. Parking is available on either side of the road near the trailhead. Parking can be limited, especially on weekends, so arrive early. There are no parking fees.
Public Transport
From San Francisco, take the Golden Gate Transit Route 101 to the Marin City Hub. From there, transfer to Marin Transit Route 61, which stops at the intersection of Shoreline Highway and Tennessee Valley Road. From the bus stop, walk approximately one mile along Tennessee Valley Road to reach the Miwok Trail trailhead. Check the bus schedules in advance, as service may be limited, especially on weekends and holidays. A one-way fare on Golden Gate Transit is approximately $6 - $8, and a one-way fare on Marin Transit is approximately $2 - $3.
Walking
If you are already in the Tennessee Valley area, follow Tennessee Valley Road away from the beach. The Miwok Trailhead will be on your left, a short walk up the road. Look for the sign marking the Miwok Trail. No costs are associated with walking to the trailhead.
