Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, the address for Coit Tower is 1 Telegraph Hill Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94133. From the Bay Area, take I-80 towards San Francisco. Once in San Francisco, follow signs for US-101 N toward Golden Gate Bridge. Merge onto I-280 N and then take the exit for CA-1 N toward Pacific Coast Highway. Take the exit toward Bay Bridge and follow signs to downtown San Francisco. Use the left 2 lanes to take the ramp onto Embarcadero and continue onto Bay St. Follow Bay St to the intersection with Telegraph Hill Blvd, and follow the signs to Coit Tower. Note that parking in the area is limited and may incur a fee, typically around $5-10 for street parking or lot parking.

• Public Transportation (Muni)

  To reach Coit Tower using public transportation, you can take the Muni bus system. If you are in downtown San Francisco, catch the 39 Coit bus at the Montgomery St. Muni Station. The bus will take you directly to the base of Coit Tower. Make sure to check the Muni schedule for the most current timings. The fare is $3 for a single ride, and you can pay using a Clipper card or cash. Once you arrive at the stop, it's a short walk up the hill to the entrance of Coit Tower.

• Cable Car

  For a classic San Francisco experience, you can also take a cable car. Board the Powell-Hyde or Powell-Mason line from downtown. Ride the cable car until you reach the stop at Bay St & Hyde St. From there, it's approximately a 15-minute uphill walk to Coit Tower. The cable car fare is $8, and you can pay with a Clipper card or cash. This method offers beautiful views of the bay and the city.

• Walking

  If you are already in the vicinity of Coit Tower, you can walk to the location from nearby neighborhoods. From Fisherman’s Wharf, it is about a 20-minute uphill walk. Head towards the historic district of Telegraph Hill and follow the signs leading to Coit Tower. The path can be steep in some areas, so wear comfortable shoes.
