Public Transit
From downtown Oakland, head to the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station. Take the BART train towards San Francisco. Ride the train for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the Embarcadero station. Transfer to the Muni Metro at the Embarcadero station and take the N-Judah line towards Ocean Beach. Ride for approximately 25 minutes and get off at the California Academy of Sciences stop. Walk west for about 10 minutes through Golden Gate Park, and you will arrive at the Dutch Windmill located at 1691 John F Kennedy Dr.
Bus
From the Oakland Civic Center, catch the AC Transit bus Line 40 towards San Francisco. Ride the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the San Francisco Civic Center. Transfer to the Muni Bus 5-Fulton. Take the 5-Fulton for about 25 minutes and get off at the stop for John F Kennedy Drive. Walk a short distance west through Golden Gate Park to the Dutch Windmill at 1691 John F Kennedy Dr.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service. Start from downtown Oakland and head west on 14th Street towards the bridge. Follow the bike path over the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. Once you reach San Francisco, continue on the bike path to Golden Gate Park. Once inside the park, navigate towards John F Kennedy Drive, and you will find the Dutch Windmill at 1691 John F Kennedy Dr.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and don’t mind a long walk, you can walk from downtown Oakland to San Francisco. Start by heading towards the Bay Bridge and follow the pedestrian path across it. Once in San Francisco, continue walking towards Golden Gate Park. Once you reach the park, make your way to John F Kennedy Drive and walk west until you reach the Dutch Windmill at 1691 John F Kennedy Dr.
