The estate's history began in 1969 when Vince Cilurzo first planted vines, introducing Petite Syrah and Chenin Blanc to the region. Bud Van Roekel expanded the vineyard in 1986, adding Muscat Canelli, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel. In 2014, the Lytton family purchased the property, then known as Van Roekel Winery, and reimagined it as Avensole, a name blending "avventura" (adventure in Italian) and "sole" (one of a kind). Inspired by European vineyards, the Lyttons transformed the property, adding a new tasting room, restaurant, and wedding venue centered around a tranquil pond and manicured pathways. Today, Avensole is a vibrant destination where visitors can explore winemaking, enjoy culinary delights, and celebrate special occasions. The 20-acre estate vineyard produces grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Muscat Canelli, Zinfandel, and Gewürztraminer.
