    From Del Mar Village, walk west on 15th Street towards the ocean. Turn right onto Coast Boulevard. Powerhouse Park will be on your left. The walk is approximately 0.3 miles and should take about 5-10 minutes. No costs are involved.

    From the UTC Transit Center, take the BREEZE 101 bus towards Del Mar. The bus ride takes approximately 33 minutes and costs $2 - $5. Get off at the Camino Del Mar & 15th St stop. Walk west on 15th Street, then turn right onto Coast Boulevard. Powerhouse Park will be on your left.

    Powerhouse Park, located at 1658 Coast Blvd in Del Mar, California, is more than just a park; it's a vibrant community hub with a fascinating history. Originally the site of a powerhouse built in 1928 to supply hot water to the Stratford Inn, the building and surrounding land were purchased by the City of Del Mar in 1983. After a 17-year restoration effort, it was transformed into the Powerhouse Community Center. The park features large grassy lawns perfect for picnics, walking paths, showers, a playground for children, picnic tables, and benches overlooking Del Mar City Beach. Visitors can often be found practicing tai chi, yoga, flying kites, and simply enjoying the picturesque scenery. The park also has barbecue areas available for public use. The Powerhouse Community Center, located at the north end of the park, is a popular venue for weddings and special events. The park is also known for hosting the Del Mar Twilight Summer Concerts, offering free music during the summer months. Powerhouse Park provides convenient access to the beach, making it ideal for sunbathing and swimming. The park is located just north of the popular 15th Street surf break, making it a great spot for experienced surfers. While dogs are allowed in the park as long as they are on leashes, they are prohibited from entering the children's tot lot. The park is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. For events with 25 or more people, or if catering or alcohol will be present, a permit is required.
