Getting There

Public Transport
From Palm Desert, you can take the SunLine Bus Route 20 towards Palm Springs. Board the bus at any local bus stop along the route. After about 30 minutes, disembark at the Palm Springs Transit Center. From there, transfer to Bus Route 14 towards San Bernardino. Stay on this bus for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the Forest Falls stop. Once you get off, follow the signs to the San Bernardino Peak Divide Trail, which leads to Washington’s Monument, approximately a 1-mile walk from the bus stop.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bicycle at one of the bike rental shops in Palm Desert. Start your journey by heading west on El Paseo until you reach Highway 111. Follow the bike lanes along Highway 111 north towards Forest Falls. This route will take approximately 2 hours depending on your pace. Once you reach the outskirts of Forest Falls, park your bike at a designated area and walk approximately 1 mile to reach Washington’s Monument.
