Getting There

    To access the Hollyridge Trail, navigate to 3200 Canyon Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068, which leads to the Brush Canyon Trailhead. From various points in Hollywood, take local streets towards the north end of Canyon Drive. Parking: There are two parking lots available before the trailhead, a small lot closer to the entrance (approx. 15 cars) and a larger lot a short walk downhill (approx. 50 cars). Parking is free, but these lots can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. If the lots are full, you may need to park along the road, adding 5-10 minutes to your hike. From the parking area, walk along the paved road until it turns into a wide dirt path on the right. Follow the signs for Brush Canyon Trailhead, which connects to the Hollyridge Trail.

  • Public Transport

    To reach the Hollyridge Trail/Brush Canyon Trailhead via public transport, take the Metro B Line to the Hollywood/Vine Station. From there, transfer to a local bus line (such as Metro Lines 2, 217, or 218) that heads towards the Hollywood Hills. Get off the bus at a stop near the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Canyon Drive. From there, it's approximately a 15-20 minute walk north on Canyon Drive to the trailhead. Cost: A single Metro Rail/Bus fare is $1.75. A day pass is available for $3.50, allowing unlimited rides.

Originally accessible via Beachwood Drive, access to the trailhead has changed over the years due to various legal and community concerns. Currently, the most common access point is via Canyon Drive. The trail itself is a moderate 3.5-mile round trip hike with an elevation gain of 750 feet. The well-maintained path offers several viewpoints of the Hollywood Sign and the surrounding Los Angeles landscape. While hiking, you may encounter local wildlife and plant life. Be sure to bring water and sun protection, as the trail offers little shade. Once on the trail, hikers will follow the path up to Mulholland Fire Road, then turn onto Mount Lee Drive, which leads directly behind the Hollywood Sign. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the surrounding mountains.
