From downtown Pismo Beach, the Monarch Butterfly Grove is a pleasant walk of approximately 1 mile. Head south on Dolliver Street. The grove is located at 400 S Dolliver St, on the right-hand side. The walk is mostly flat and takes about 20 minutes. There are sidewalks along the route.

The SLO Transit Route 12 stops near the Monarch Butterfly Grove. From the Pismo Beach Premium Outlets, take Route 12 towards Grover Beach and get off at the Dolliver Street at Pismo Beach City Hall stop. From there, walk south on Dolliver Street for about 5 minutes (0.2 miles). Single ride fare is $1.75.
