From downtown Redding, head east on California Street towards the Sacramento River. Continue straight until you reach Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and walk north. Follow Market Street until you arrive at the intersection with Hilltop Drive. Turn right onto Hilltop Drive and walk until you reach the intersection with Pine Street. Cross Hilltop Drive and continue walking east on Pine Street. After a few blocks, turn left onto Haleakala Avenue. Salt Creek Heights Park will be on your left at 4270 Haleakala Ave. Walking distance is approximately 3 miles and will take about an hour.

From downtown Redding, take the RABA bus (Route 1) heading towards Hilltop Drive. Get off at the Hilltop Drive and Pine Street stop. From there, walk east on Pine Street for a short distance, then turn left onto Haleakala Avenue.
