Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start by navigating to 1100 Sunset Cliffs Blvd, San Diego, CA 92107. From downtown San Diego, head west on I-5 N and take exit 21B for CA-163 N toward Escondido. Merge onto CA-163 N, then take the exit for I-8 W toward Ocean Beach. Continue on I-8 W and take the exit for Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Follow Sunset Cliffs Blvd directly to the park entrance. There is usually free parking available along Sunset Cliffs Blvd, but be prepared to walk a short distance to reach the scenic viewpoints.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Sunset Cliffs by public transportation, take the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus route 35 from downtown San Diego. Board the bus at the nearest stop and ride until you reach the 'Sunset Cliffs Blvd & Point Loma Ave' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the cliffs. It’s about a 1.5-mile walk from the heart of Ocean Beach to Sunset Cliffs, which should take around 30-40 minutes. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer days.
