If you are driving from downtown San Diego, take I-15 North for approximately 50 miles. Take exit 79 for CA-78 East towards Ramona/Julian. Continue on CA-78 East for about 15 miles until you reach the town of Julian. Once in Julian, follow the signs to Marshal South Home Trail, which is located just outside of the town. The trailhead is located at the coordinates 33.0008714, -116.3863053. Parking may be available along the road near the trailhead, but be mindful of any posted signs.
Public Transportation + Walking
To reach Yaquitepec using public transportation, start by taking the San Diego Trolley to the Gillespie Field station. From there, catch the 888 bus towards Julian. The bus will take you to Julian, which is about 15 miles from Yaquitepec. Once you arrive in Julian, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to reach the trailhead at Marshal South Home Trail. Be aware that the bus schedule may vary, so check the San Diego Transit website for the latest information. As of now, a bus fare is approximately $2.50 one way.
