From the Plaza de Panama in Balboa Park, walk east, crossing Park Boulevard via the pedestrian bridge. The Desert Garden is located on the east side of Park Boulevard, adjacent to the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden. It's a short walk, approximately 5-10 minutes, from the main museums in Balboa Park.

From downtown San Diego, take the Rapid 215 or Route 7 bus to the Park Blvd & Zoo Pl stop. From there, walk south along Park Boulevard, crossing the pedestrian bridge to reach the Desert Garden. A one-way fare is typically $2.50.

Driving
From I-5, exit at Pershing Drive and follow signs to Balboa Park. Free parking is available throughout Balboa Park. Park in the Inspiration Point parking lot and take the free Balboa Park Tram to a stop near the Desert Garden. Alternatively, parking is available near the San Diego Zoo, a short walk from the garden. Parking is free.
