Discover more about Vincent Price Art Museum

The Vincent Price Art Museum (VPAM), located on the campus of East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park, California, stands as a unique educational and cultural resource. Founded in 1957, the museum's origins lie in a generous donation of 90 artworks from the private collection of actor Vincent Price and his wife, Mary Grant Price. This initial gift, intended to provide students with firsthand experience of original artworks, has since grown into a collection of over 9,000 objects. VPAM's collection spans a wide range of artistic styles and periods, including Pre-Columbian ceramics and textiles, modern Mexican masters, and contemporary art. The museum has become known for championing underrepresented artists, hosting key solo exhibitions for Los Angeles-based artists. VPAM also organizes cross-disciplinary programs that explore issues of historical, social, and cultural relevance. Today, the Vincent Price Art Museum continues to serve the diverse audiences of East Los Angeles College and the wider community by presenting innovative exhibitions and fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the visual arts. With free admission, VPAM makes art accessible to all.
