Please do not park in the library parking lot for the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Barnes Park is a vibrant and well-loved park in the center of Monterey Park, California. Measuring approximately 11 acres, the park provides a diverse range of activities and amenities for people of all ages. Originally named "Monterey Park Park", it was renamed Barnes Park in 1948 to honor Mr. B.S. Barnes, a resident who spearheaded the park's original acquisition. The Barnes Park Memorial Bowl and play area were also dedicated in 1948. The park features a community center, basketball gym, and an amphitheater/memorial bowl that hosts various events. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the lighted softball field, tennis, and pickleball courts, as well as a fitness court. For families with children, there's a children's play area and picnic shelters available for reservations. The park is within walking distance of important civic buildings such as City Hall, the Fire Department, and the library, making it a true community hub. Barnes Park is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM.
